TripTogether – Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to TripTogether ("the App"), developed by KeyQuest Studio. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our collaborative trip-planning app.

By using TripTogether you agree to this policy. If you disagree, please discontinue use.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: When you sign in we collect your name, email address, and profile photo (via Google Sign-In or email/password registration).

Trip data: Trips you create or join, including title, destination, dates, checklists, activities, and maps.

Chat messages: Text and images you share inside trip group chats. These are stored in Firebase and visible to all trip members.

Photos: Images you upload to trip chats or your profile are stored in Firebase Storage.

Location (optional): If you grant permission, we use your location to suggest nearby places and show maps, only while the app is in use. We do not store your location history.

Service data: Device push tokens and subscription status needed to deliver notifications and premium access. We do not currently use a third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK.

Purchase data: Subscription status and transaction identifiers processed via the App Store or Google Play billing systems. We do not store payment card details.

3. How We Use Your Information

Provide and sync trip-planning features in real time
Enable group collaboration — sharing trips, chats, and media with members
Send push notifications for trip updates (FCM)
Process premium subscription purchases
Improve app performance and fix bugs

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Information is shared only:

With other members of a trip you join or create
With third-party service providers listed above, to operate the App
If required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users

6. Data Retention

Your data is stored while your account is active. In-app account deletion immediately starts removal of your authentication account, profile, private device tokens, avatar, trips you own and their media. For shared trips, your membership and content you authored are removed while other members' content remains. Service-provider backups may persist for a limited period under the providers' retention policies, except where longer retention is required by law.

7. Children's Privacy

TripTogether is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including Firebase Security Rules, Firebase App Check, and encrypted HTTPS connections to protect your data.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. You may also delete your account from within the App settings.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
